NOTES ON CLIPS FROM THE SANTA BARBARA HISTORICAL DANCE WEEKEND AND WEEKEND PLUS
These video clips represent the dances Sandra taught the students. In some cases the dancers had only 2 classes and in other cases the dancers had 3-4 classes. Some are professional dancers and other students are teachers or enthusiasts. Because the dances were taught in a workshop situation, please view the material as such and not as a finished product. It is our hope that these clips will inspire professional ballet dancers to look more deeply into this treasure trove of early 19th century ballet.
Please be aware that reconstructing a dance involves interpretation and at times original work from the reconstructor as she makes decisions for information which may be missing or is unclear. Hence, the reconstructed dance is an “edition” by the reconstructor and is thereby intellectual property of the reconstructor which is protected under copyright laws.
